Even more reasons to love your air fryer

The truth is, when I bought my air fryer, I didn’t think I was going to like it. Or use it. It’s huge, and I was hesitant to give up the counter space, plus I didn’t need another cooking appliance … I already had too many!

Well, the joke’s on me, friends, because I ♥ my air fryer!

We are empty-nesters, so with just two of us at home, it’s simpler than heating up the whole oven. And my friends and family with kids at home use theirs all the time, because kids can make their own snacks with ease in an air fryer. It’s fast, too!

If you’re new to air frying – here are 7 tips:

  1. When choosing an air fryer, bigger is better in my opinion (unless you are cooking for one).
  2. I prefer the rack-style vs. the basket-style, because there is more space to spread things out.
  3. For crispness, don’t overcrowd the food. Let the air circulate as much as possible.
  4. Also for crispness, spritz it with non-stick spray.
  5. Flip the food (or shake the basket) halfway through. Rotate the racks, if you have that style of air fryer.
  6. Check the food often, especially when you are just learning about air frying. Things can go from not done to overdone in a minute or two.
  7. Reheat leftovers in your air fryer! I usually give them a quick zap in the microwave, just to bring them to room temp/barely warm, then toss them in the air fryer. The taste and texture are so much better!
